Those who want to work as a member of charity organization can entry the country but there is a list of detailed rules for this sort of applicants. The program is supported by Home Office to make voluntary work more popular among youth.

You have to meet such requirements:

  1. You are not going to be paid for work;
  2. It is a work for some registered charity of volunteer organization
  3. You are able to stay in the UK without help of public funds
  4. You are going to leave the country after the work is finished.

You do not have intentions to live permanently in the UK and the visit duration is maximum 12 months. However the number of the visits as a volunteer worker is not limited.

You must do fieldwork offering direct assistance to those the charity is there to help, for example, elderly, disabled, vulnerable or homeless people.

It must not be a work which is usually paid for.

The work should be not a salary based but some expenses (in some cases subsistence payments ) compensation is possible.

It is possible to switch to this category inside of the country if you meet all the requirements.

Although you can apply for extending time of staying as a volunteer the total length should be not longer than 12 months.
