If you are working for mass media representative (newspaper, TV or radio corporation) and you need to stay in the UK for a long time period on , being employed full-time with on salary basis you can apply for the corresponding visa.

You can entry the country as a representative of an overseas media organization if you show that:

  1. You some overseas organization hires you as a representative on a long-term basis.
  2. That the work for this organization is a full-time position.
  3. That you are not going to take up other works besides the work of the representative.
  4. That you can provide yourself without any public funds.

Please contact British authorities locally if you are a visa-national for entry clearance. It is not possible to switch to this visa in the country. If after 2 year you will still need to go on working in this position the residence time can be extended three years more.

You can qualify as a representative of an overseas media organisation if you can show evidence of the following:

  1. that you have been engaged by that organisation outside the UK, and you are being posted to the UK on a long-term assignment as a representative;
  2. that you intend to work full time as a representative of that organisation;
  3. that you do not intend to take employment except as a representative of an overseas media organisation;
  4. that you can live in the UK without help from public funds

You will need to obtain entry clearance if you are a visa national and you cannot switch to this visa in-country.

You will be granted a maximum initial stay of 2 year, which can be extended a further three years if you intend to continue working as a representative of an overseas media organisation.
