Overseas government employee
If you are going to work for overseas government in the UK office you can apply for this visa. If it is an international organisation the UK should be among its members.
To meet the requirements you have to show:
- having valid status of an overseas government employer or a a valid UK entry clearance;
- Your are offered the full-time position by an overseas government or an international organization;
- You are financially independent and will not need public funds support;
- Your are going to work for your employer only without taking other works.
If you need visa to entry the UK you have to contact local British Consulate to apply for entry.
If you already in the UK you can not switch into this category. The first authorisation will be for 24 months and it can be extended for after the period is over. You can be granted a leave to remain in next three years of your staying in the UK as an overseas government or international organisation worker.
For the leave to remain in UK you will have to show the following:
- You have been working for overseas government or international organization for at least five years for the period of the application.
- You are still working for the same organization and do not plan to change the employer.
- While you have been staying in the UK you have never used the help of public funds.
